God is the giver of life and with Him everything is possible.
Nadia is a 33 year old that was born with a congenital heart defect and after four open heart surgeries her heart has become very weak and has congenital heart failure and is in need of a Heart Transplant. Nadia’s work is on hold due to moving to a different country (Colombia), and because of her heart condition she gets tired very often and is connected to oxygen permanently. Her mom visits every two to three weeks or when she gets hospitalized while waiting for her to get into the waitlist.

Current NON-Medical Situation
Many patients waiting for heart transplantation face financial barriers in accessing transplantation due to lack of insurance and as often patients are required to relocate to access the waitlist for transplantation, on-going assessment, medicines and follow-up care following Transplant surgery. That is Nadia case as well.
Nadia is from Panama and because Panama has no program for Heart Transplant, she had to relocate to a different country to try to get included into a Transplant Program. By moving to Colombia (Medellin) their expenses will rise substantially since there will be two houses to be maintain, saving for the medical procedure, medicines, plus trips from Panama to Colombia for her family until she gets into the waitlist and a heart is available.
The family hopes to receive the help of the Panamanian Government but it will not pay for the complete heart transplant treatment, pre-hospitalizations, medications and tests after the transplant takes. Is important to say that Nadia does not has Medical Insurance due to her precondition.
Friends from Nadia and her family have met to coordinate help for them. A goal has been set…
Goal: To help minimize the financial impact on the family resulting from Nadia’s transplant.
The approximate cost of the Transplant is $150,000 (we dont know the exact amount yet, because of colombia´s law the figure wont be disclosed until Nadia becomes legally authorized to receive a heart). Nadia and her family are working on that too. We have raised so far $25,200 (as of Abril 29), that’s why we need as much help as possible.
